Career Weeks Started at Yeşilova İsmail Akın Tourism Vocational School.

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Yeşilova İsmail Akın Tourism Vocational School is bringing students together with tourism professionals with a different approach. The Vocational School hosts the leading brands of our country every week within the scope of career weeks. Career weeks, which provide students with the opportunity to follow the latest developments in the sector and find jobs, will continue throughout the spring semester.

Yeşilova İsmail Akın Tourism Vocational School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mert Gürlek stated in his statement, “The understanding of career days limited to certain days is not sufficient for sector-student meetings. Meetings held in a limited time make it difficult to seize career opportunities. For this reason, as the Vocational School, we bring our students together with the sector every week. Our biggest goal is to send our students to the sector ready with a fully applied education model. With our Lavanta Tepesi Salda hotel, which gives us strength, our students meet the sector from the moment they start school and get a taste of the profession. We conduct the applied education approach in all our programs of culinary, tourism hotel management, and tourist guidance with our valuable lecturers who have sector experience. ETS Tourism Regional Representative Fatih YILDIRIM, who participated in the first program of the career weeks, said, “Seeing your lessons practically and coming to the sector makes us even more hopeful. The increase of such schools providing applied education and students gaining experience before starting business life always ensures they start one step ahead.”

Amon Hotels Human Resources Manager Tuğçe DUMAN, who participated in the second program of the career weeks, said, “It is very nice to meet student friends in such an organized, applied school. We go to many schools, but we saw such an opportunity offered to students here. This is important for us; the student breathes the same air before coming to the sector and can adapt to their job without feeling alien when they come to us.
